Wexland Benjamin and Doylan Mrs Tittlemouse

Hello everyone, and welcome to our 2009 blog, mum has left last years blog for you all to see.

Well, what can I tell you, New Year mum moved us back to our old Livery Yard as it was started up again, and let me tell you its good to be home again, I actually missed that place, I think its because there is so much to do and see up there, don't get me wrong, our other place was nice, but it just wasn't the same, and best of all, I got my old stable back.

We've not been up to much to be honest, but now the showing season is upon us yet again, I have been busy getting myself ready to go showing.

This year Ella is showing me, as Amy tends to work most weekends, but thats ok, I like Ella.

I don't think Benji will be going out though, as he had a run in with a pair of clippers, please don't ask, and I can't explain on here, mum says too many eyes, but it looks a mess, & to top it all of unlike me, he has no forelock, he rubbed it off and now it just looks a mess, which is a shame really, but I overheard mum saying to Ella, that if it grows and his clip grows out, he can go somewhere, till then it looks like I am flying the flag solo.

I am doing so much better as well, I am more forward going in my trot and I am now walking with my head held high, mum says its important to look where I am going and not on the ground, but she thought Ella might have problems keeping my head up, but I feel so much better in myself this year that I am proud to walk like that, I think I was still a little under the weather last year to be honest with you.

Anyway, till laters, I have grass to munch and practising to do, as I do not want to let Ella or mum down.

We've been moving today, it was quite fun actually, mummy put us out in the field this morning, and thought we'd not be caught at dinnertime, but we did, we came in, like good ponies, then we went in the trailer, and moved to our new place, its lovely, we have a lovely stable, and a lovely field, and some friends over the wall we have made, I think we are really lucky ponies really.

Has been off out again with Billie & Aunty Amy, Billie did really well, but Mummy says I should of also gone as well, as the judge seemed to like tradtional Welshies, I was ok playing in my field.

Have you seen what my mum has done to our website, she has been updating it with our pedigree charts, I also have Coed Coch in me as well as the Pendoch bloodlines, mummy has done a 5 generation pedigree chart for both me & Billie on the all breed pedigree site, and myself & Billie also share Clan Pip as a relative as well, Pip being on my dams side and on Billies side he is on her Sires side.

Mummy has also found a photo of my Grandad on my Dads side, Trefaes Orange pip, he is my Grandad, and apprently is beautiful, a bit like me really *giggles*

She has also given us a new page or our show results, and removed them from our introduction pages, so it looks a lot more tider.

She really is kind to us, she has a surprise for us, next week, but won't tell me what it is, I am going to ask Billie if she knows what it is!!!

Its me again Billie, I finally get to be able to write again, I have been out and about again, this time I went to the Annual show held by the local bridleways, me & Amy went in the Youngstock class and the M&M in hand, and I got 1st in them both and a medal as well in each class, then I went into the Championship class for the in hand section, and guess what  me & Amy got the Championship for the Junior section, and guess what else I got as well, I got a trophy, my mummy says that Aunty Amy has to keep the trophy and the championship rosette and also the one for the Youngstock class as well, and I think she should as well, even my Grandma says so, but Amy was trying to give them back!!  Shes very naughty like that is Aunty Amy, but we had a really good day, till it rained, and we both got wet, but it was all worth it.

I am really happy, my mummy says that I have been really good, and that I go really well for Amy.  This was only my 3rd show ever, so I am feeling really important, but I must not go tell Benji what happened, mummy says not to, because he will only be annoyed that he stayed at home.

Wonder where I am off to next.......

Benji here, we haven't been really busy of late, that is why we haven't wrote about anything in a long time, not much is happening, but Billie went to another show and got 3rd in two classes, born with a silverspoon in her mouth that one!!  And did I hear the last of it, did I chuff,  shes apprently off out again next sunday as well, least I can stay at home again and chill out in my field on my own.

But when we have something interesting to tell you, we'll write more

What has she been saying about me? I wasn't in a bad mood yesterday, I was just tired, and it was blowing a gale, and the class wasn't in my usual ring, (which is next to the show jumping) and you all know by now I love the show jumping, plus my Grandma wasn't very well, she kept getting a pain in her chest, but she wouldn't take her inhaler, even though mummy kept telling her to, but actually thinking about it, I wasn't very well beheaved for Grandma, I could of beheaved myself a bit better. I do feel really guilty about that.

But its a bit of a shock to the old system is this, I went out twice last weekend, (did I mention I got a 1st?) and then again this weekend, most I have ever done hahahahaha.

I know she has been bragging about being from the Doylan stud, well I am from the Wexland Stud - http://www.wexland.co.uk/ 

But its only a bit of friendly riverly, I hope anyway?

I wouldn't mind if Billie went to Ilkley to be honest with you, but it is nice to go places without her, I spend all my time with her, and like I said before she's got a right yak on her, more so now she has a red rosette, well we both have now.

Bit annoyed she got one straight away though.  But at the end of the day, I guess its down to the judges choice, and it just wasn't our turn yesterday.

But its nice to relax in the field, Mummy said I'm not going anywhere again for 3 weeks, which is nice to know, I can recharge my batteries, she also said I'm not going to Keighley Show either in September, but its ok, I don't mind, as Billie pointed out, I did Otley, let me stay at home in my field, I'm sure Billie will be able to tell me all about it.

I over heard mummy and Aunty Rachel & Aunty Amy chatting about breaking us both to harness yesterday, are they having a laugh......me, sharing shafts with Billie, I don't think so, although personally I think I would make a super driving pony, I hope when I do get broken in, we can find a nice small child for me.  That would be nice, do a bit of ridden showing, but Billie is right, I don't jump,  I don't care much for it, I can do it, but I'd rather not.

I am really tired today, I am still so happy about yesterday, mummy was talking with Fiona yesterday, Fiona is the lady who bred me, I am from the Doylan Stud - http://www.doylanstud.com/

Fiona is really pleased  that I did so well, especially with it being my 1st ever show, (note to Benji, you said 2yrs it would take me, 1ST SHOW HAHAHA) but Aunty Amy was really nice and kind to me, she understood that I might be nervous, Mummy is buying her a present from us today, hope its edible, I like food.  But I just can't stop talking about it, Benji is really annoyed with me, when I got to the field last night, he wasn't at the top waiting for me like he normally is, he was down the bottom, you can tell he is in a sulk because we always get a mint from Grandma, he never came up for his, so I had mine, and when I went down the field to stand grazing with him, he walked off. Its ok, I understand, and evertime I tried to talk with him about it, all he did was snap at me, and say 'I've got 3 qualifier cards'  So I best not talk to him about it again, we are moving fields tomorrow, so I will be able to chat to Tally about it over the fence.

Mummy has said I can't go to Ilkley again this season because Benji is a member with Grandma, and even though Mummy will happily make me & Aunty Amy a member if we wanted to become one, its not fair on Benji, but its a really nice show ground, its all flat with plenty of lush grass for us to eat, and lots to see, I think what was wrong with Benji though was the ring wasn't next to the jumping ring, we were in whats called the Working Hunter ring, not sure what a working hunter is, but we were in that ring, and he couldn't get a good view of the show jumping, Mummy says I might make a nice working hunter pony, apprently they do M&M Working Hunter classes at some shows, I think that would be really fun, because I can jump, unlike Benji, he can't jump, but I can.  But it would be finding a small person to be able to ride us, Mummy says that adults ride the small M&M's as well, she can remember seeing an adult person on a dartmoor pony at Otley show many years ago when she used to go with Dawn, Mummy has told me so much about Dawn, I bet she was fantastic, I would of loved to have met with her, she was a B, and I'm an A, all Mummy and Grandma would of needed then would of been and C & D hahahaha, mind Graphite is a D x. So they need another B and a C then we have the full set.

I am off to the Bridleways show in June I think with Aunty Amy, then apprently I am off to Keighley Show, Benji has never been to that, and he's not going to either, I'm off to it this year, he has been to Otley, I want to see what an agriculutral show is all about.  But thats in September, so I have plenty of time to pratcise a bit more.  I quite like this showing business it's fun.

Benji's Entry

I went to the HAPPA show, I didn't really want to go, it all started off badly, I didn't want my travel bandages on, or my tail bandage or my rug come to think of it, in fact to be perfectly honest with you, all I wanted to do was go out into the field and be left alone, I've been out 3 times this month, way to much for me, I am a lounge lizard, I just want to chill out, and eat my grass, but will my mother listin to me, no, she insists I go to these events, mind I did well last week though.

Anyway, I got there, it was windy and blowing my mane all over the place, I didn't really like that, and to cap it all off Billie came as well, but I'll let her tell that side of the story.  But it was ok I suppose, Grandma wasn't very well, and we didn't do very well in the class, I just didn't want t trot out right, and I messed about a bit to be honest, but its my fault no one elses, I was a bit tired I think, but mummy keeps saying its the taking part that counts.

Billies Entry

I went to my 1st ever show today, and I was so well behaved, I went up the trailer ramp like a little pro, I had my tail and my legs washed by my Aunty Amy & Aunty Ella to start with, because I slept in something we won't mention in public *giggles* I even had travel bandages on for the 1st time ever in my life, when I got to the show, I wasn't sure if it was another sale to be honest with you, but it seemed different to a sale so I trusted Benji when he said it wasn't, but he was in a fowl mood today, I don't know why though.

When I was waiting for my class, there was some fancy dress class going on, I would love to take part in that, as a princess dressed in pink.

Anyway, we went into the ring, and we walked around, and I was really well beheaved for Amy, and we did a little trot out, and back to the Judge, and then we had another walk around, and then guess what...........

I got first rosette + a trophy!!!!

Everyone is really pleased with me because I won, and it was my 1st ever show as well, then me & Amy had our photo taken as well with the rosette on, it was really such a good day, I can't wait to go again.

Its, me, Benji, it's my turn to tell you about myself today, my Mummy is beside herself, its the middle of May & I still have some of my winter woolies on.

She will not be told that under no circumstance what so ever will I subject myself or my bits to the Yorkshire elements, she should know by now that I will not loose my coat till the back end of May early June, we have this every single year, eventually she will learn! Is she nuts to think I want to start losing my winter woolies in March when it still snows up here?  I know it can be cold in Wales, but gee I don't remember it being that cold! She threatned the clippers on me you know!  How mean is that, she has a mean streak in her does that woman, how horrible to strip me of my woolies, mind I do have some nice thick warm rugs, but that is beside the point!  Someone seriously needs to have words with her before she does it.

But I have upset my Grandma, I have a patch of summer coat on my bum, and guess what.........its dark grey/black, my Grandma wants me to turn white like all the pretty ponies you see in the ring, and mummy wants me to turn black like my biological dad, its a tough choice, so I am playing it safe, I'll be dark grey/black for a few years to please mummy, then I think I might go white to please Grandma, *sighs* its tough being me, trying to please everyone.

Maybe if I went black & white, they would both be happy???

I think Billie will go white before me, maybe if she does that will mean Grandma will be happy, and leave me alone with my fur coat!  Must have words with Billie over this, after all I was here first, and I am the oldest, so what I say, by rights should go!

I was talking with Billie last night about her practising her trotting *tut* you'd think she was something special (don't tell her I said that will you) I mean I can do it, its really simple so I think, but then again mummy does say I am too intelligent for my own good, and I pick things up really well. (usually my halter lead rope at inapropieate moments, like when I am doing my super pose for the judge, well I have to enterain myself somehow)

But Billie seems pleased with herself, so I best keep quiet, otherwise she will nag me to bits, she doesn't half twitter on you know, shes got a right yak on her.  She even nags in her sleep!!

You have to feel sorry for me people, there I was having a peaceful life and along comes mummy with a gremlin and dumps her on me!  Bang went my peace and quiet, I need earplugs!!

Never ever again is my mother going to a sale, god only knows what she'll fetch back next time, shes not fit to be allowed out without my assistance.

Anyway thats enough for me now, I'm off back to the earache I know I will get, god grant me the strength to get through the day, tis all I ask of you, that or beam me down extra strength ear muffs!

Today I have been extra special, I have been practaising like mad for my class at the HAPPA show on Sunday, my Auntie Amy was running me out, and I did really really well, and I even did an extended trot, I am so looking forward to going, but I over heard my mummy say that I will have to wear a hand me down halter, I think thats a bit unfair, when Benji gets all new stuff, so far, I have a hand me down purple fleece, that no longer fits me, and a hand me down fly sheet, and now a hand me down Halter.  But I did hear my mummy mention that she has found a pink fleece on eBay, whatever eBay is, so I might get a brand new fleece all to myself, that actually fits, I have grown since I wore it last, and it no longer fits me where it should.  My bum gets a bit chilly!

But, I do have a brand new pink headcollar (I think its finally getting through to my mummy that girls wear pink, and boys wear blue) and brand new set of Purple Travelling bandages, won't I look the coolest kid on the block?

Benji has lots of pink clothes, think my mummy went a bit mad actually kitting him out in pink, I don't think he really likes pink, even his fleece has pink banding on it!!  He doesn't seem to mind though.

Although he has annoyed me this week, gloating about his win, you would think he had won the lottery, its all I have heard since Sunday, mind Mummy & Grandma are really pleased, and Mummy said that Jo is really pleased as well, I hope people are as pleased with me if I ever win something, I would like a Rosette all to myself, but Benji said it took him nearly 2 years to win his first red one. *Sighs* maybe it will take me that long?  Wonder if I flutter my eyelashes at the judge, that might sway it a little, I can be very cute when I want to be.
